InSight BCMS

Branch circuit monitoring built into every CP Series RPP

InSight BCMS is the integrated branch-circuit monitoring system on every CP Series Remote Power Panel. It meters current, voltage, energy, and power quality to within +/-0.5%, surfaces it on a local touchscreen, and streams it to your BMS, NOC, or DCIM — without ever opening a door.

What it is

Per-circuit visibility, factory-integrated

InSight BCMS is engineered into the panel — not bolted on after the fact. Every one of the (84) single-pole branch-circuit positions can be metered individually, giving you true per-circuit visibility into the loads feeding your critical equipment. The system is DIN-rail modular and scalable, so you provision exactly the monitoring density a given deployment requires and add to it later without re-pulling conductors.

  • True-RMS metering of current, voltage, energy, and power quality
  • +/-0.5% accuracy across the measured range
  • Up to (84) single-pole branch positions monitored individually
  • DIN-rail modular hardware that scales with the install

What it monitors

Four measurement domains, one system

Every reading is true-RMS and held to +/-0.5% accuracy.

Current

Per-branch amperage and aggregate input current, so you see exactly how each circuit is loaded against its breaker rating.

Voltage

Phase and line voltages across the 3-phase Wye, 4-wire system, monitored continuously for sag, swell, and imbalance.

Energy & Power

kWh, kW, kVA, and power factor for capacity accounting, cost allocation, and right-sizing future loads.

Power Quality

Power-quality metrics that flag distortion and anomalies before they reach the equipment downstream of the panel.

How it works

Local at the panel, remote at the desk

InSight BCMS presents live data on a local touchscreen at the panel for floor technicians, and exports the same data upstream so your operations team never has to walk the room. Because every value the team needs is on the display and on the network, the doors stay closed — measurements are taken without breaking the panel's thermal or arc-flash boundary.

  • Local touchscreen for at-panel inspection and commissioning
  • Remote data feed for centralized monitoring
  • Doors stay closed during routine readings
  • Optional IR inspection windows for closed-door thermal scans

Why it matters

What per-circuit data buys your operation

CAPACITY

Capacity planning

Trend real per-circuit and per-panel load so you provision the next rack or cabinet against measured headroom, not nameplate guesses.

ALARMS

Threshold alarms

Set limits on current and voltage and get alerted before a circuit approaches its breaker, so overloads are caught early.

SAFETY

Fewer door openings

Readings come off the touchscreen and the network — reducing the live-panel exposures that drive arc-flash risk.

ACCURACY

True-RMS at +/-0.5%

Billing-grade accuracy on every channel means the numbers your team plans and reports against are the numbers at the busbar.

UPTIME

Faster fault isolation

Per-circuit data narrows a downstream event to a single branch in seconds instead of a manual walkdown.

SCALABLE

Grows with the room

Modular DIN-rail metering lets you start light and add monitoring density as the deployment fills out.

Where the data goes

Feeds your BMS, NOC, and DCIM

InSight BCMS is built to report upstream, so the panel becomes one more managed node in the systems your team already runs.

BMS

Branch-circuit and panel-level telemetry rolls into building management for facility-wide load, energy, and alarm visibility.

NOC

Live current, voltage, and alarm states reach your network operations center so power is monitored alongside everything else on the floor.

DCIM

Per-circuit power and energy feed DCIM for capacity accounting, stranded-capacity recovery, and rack-level planning.

FAQ

Common questions on InSight BCMS

Is monitoring standard or an upgrade?

InSight BCMS is integrated into every CP Series RPP as a factory-built subsystem — not a third-party add-on retrofitted in the field.

How accurate are the readings?

All channels are true-RMS and held to +/-0.5% across current, voltage, energy, and power-quality measurements.

Do I have to open the panel to read it?

No. Data is available on the local touchscreen and over the network, so the doors stay closed during routine monitoring. Optional IR windows allow closed-door thermal inspection as well.

Can it integrate with our existing systems?

Yes. InSight BCMS is designed to report upstream to your BMS, NOC, and DCIM so panel data lives alongside the rest of your facility telemetry.

Can I monitor every branch circuit?

The system supports individual metering of up to (84) single-pole branch-circuit positions, and its DIN-rail modular design scales to match the density you need.

Which CP Series models include it?

InSight BCMS is available across the CP Series line — CP-225, CP-400, and CP-600 — on panels rated up to 480V.

Every CP Series RPP ships with InSight BCMS — in stock now, 4-week delivery.
